SCORE is looking for individuals to assist them in counseling individuals wanting to start a business, expand a business or help with lectures/seminars for the Boone County area. With individuals retiring at an earlier age, SCORE has expanded its volunteer pool to include men and women still actively working.

You possess a wealth of information and guidance for budding entrepreneurs; put it to use. All training will be provided by SCORE.

SCORE WORKSHOPS

SCORE, Northern Illinois Chapter #574, offers "Starting a Small Business" and "Writing a Business Plan" workshops at Rock Valley College monthly. The Workshops are presented by SCORE members in cooperation with Rock Valley College and the College's Small Business Development Center. You are encouraged to register for a SCORE Workshop.

WORKSHOP - Starting a Small Business

PURPOSE: To review the advantages, hazards and requirements of starting a small business.
CONTENT: Defining Your Business, Business Management, Marketing, Cash Flow and the Steps for Small Business Start Up.  Participants receive a Workshop Handbook and SCORE information on starting a small business.

WORKSHOP - Writing a Business Plan
PURPOSE: To review the importance of writing a Business Plan.
CONTENT: Company and Competition Analysis, Market Analysis, Stategic Planning, Fiancail Analysis, Securing Financing and Business Plan Format. Participants receive information on the writing of a Business Plan.
LOCATION & Dates/Times are updated each year.

Preregistration is Best - Workshops may be cancelled if there is not enough interest.
