About Us

The Belvidere Area Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who have joined together for the purpose of promoting the civic and commercial progress of our community. The area’s economic well-being is related directly to the caliber of work that is done by the Chamber. That is why the Belvidere Area Chamber has a major impact on business, income and future growth of the area. There are five primary objectives of the Belvidere Area Chamber of Commerce:

  1. To promote a better understanding of the nation's private enterprise system.
  2. To coordinate the efforts of commerce, industry and the professions in maintaining and strengthening a sound and healthy business climate in the Belvidere area.
  3. To sponsor aggressive programs of work and stimulate activities that will provide for full development and employment of our human and economic resources.
  4. To Provide creative business leadership and effective coordination of all interested parties in solving community problems and in initiating constructive community action.
  5. To create broad understanding and appreciation of the great opportunities in the Boone County area, and to promote the advantages and assets of our community within the region, in the state, and in the world.

Meet the Belvidere Area Chamber of Commerce Staff

Amy Nord

Executive Director: Amy Nord

Amy joined the Belvidere Area Chamber of Commerce as Executive Director in August of 2019. She has over 15 years of experience partnering successfully with non-profit organizations, chambers, visitors’ bureaus, and businesses to increase profits and create stronger relationships. Prior to joining the Belvidere Area Chamber, Amy was employed with Growth Dimensions. The two organizations have worked together to bring new businesses to Belvidere and offer additional services to our current businesses. Her experience includes research, market metrics, investor recruitment, and implementing strategic marketing plans to support customer retention and event growth.
Amy is passionate about energizing the community through positive action and has proven to be a strong asset for charities and businesses. She is active in the Belvidere community serving on the board for Growth Dimensions, Heritage Days Committee, Buchanan Street Strolls Committee, Boone County Crime Stoppers, Zonta, and Cosmopolitan Club of Belvidere. As a lifelong resident of Boone County, she is proud to be raising her two daughters in the community in which she grew up.
The Vision she has for the Chamber of Commerce and the community is to continue with the successful events and services already offered while strategically developing and implementing long-term partnerships to ensure Boone County is THE place to be for businesses and residents.

Lee Revels

Director of Marketing and Member Support: Lee Revels

Lee joined the Chamber of Commerce as a board member in 2018 and served as secretary for the 2019 calendar year.  In February of 2020, Lee made a career change and joined the Chamber as Executive Assistant.  Prior to her position at the Chamber, she held several roles at General Mills in the Belvidere facility, most recently as Safety Manager.  With over 20 years of experience in Operational Leadership roles and a track record of strong performance in high-pressure environments, Lee skillfully manages administrative duties and client relations for the executive director and board of directors at The Belvidere Area Chamber of Commerce.
As Director of Marketing and Member Support she partners with the executive director to ensure the smooth operation of the Chamber.  With her robust knowledge of strategic leadership and tactical execution, Lee serves as the primary contact for member billing and general inquiries and provides technical and logistical support for multiple projects, meetings, conferences, and workshops.
Over 20 years ago, Lee decided that Belvidere was the community in which she wanted to raise her family.   Lee is active in the Belvidere community and continues to serve on the Boone County Board of Health.  From 2013 through 2018, Lee served as the chairperson for the Boone County Local Emergency Planning Committee and continues to support the organization by representing the Chamber on the committee.
